THAMES STOCK EXCHANGE.

A meeting of the committee was held on Friday night, for the purpose of electing a chairman and secretary. There were present Captain Skene; Messrs. Hunter, Walker, O'Keeffe, and Philp, hon. secretary. Messrs. Skene and O'Keeffe were nominated for tho chairmanship, but Mr. O'Keeffe declined the honour, and the position therefore fell to Captain Skene, who briefly returned thanks. Mr. David Philp was then elected secretary, with a salary of £25 per year. A general meeting of the members of the Exchange was held, and the followingnewmembers proposed and ballotted for : — Messrs. Page, Brassey, Sully, Reeves, Ferguson, Eaton, Creagh, Pnllien, Ledger, Saloshin, Bain, Macdoiwld, Wannoll, C. F. Mitchell, Woodward, Spencer, Curtis, and Soiiter. An application from the Thames correspondent ot the Ncio Zealand Herald to be admitted as a member was received and refused — the meeting being of opinion that members ot the Press would be somewhat out of place in the ranks of the sharebrokiug body. Some other business was transacted, and the meeting terminated. The Exchange is to be formally opened for business on Monday next. — [Thames Correspondent.]
