OHINEMURI.
Te HIRA-'s present trip down the river, as far as the native fishing-grouud, within sight of Shordand, is a strong indication that his enmity towards the pakeha is giving way to a better and more cordial feeling. lam informed that this is his first venture down the river such a distance for a number of years. We have not seen the end of the Te Moananui land squabble. A large meeting h to be held this week in the Piako distr-ct for a further discussion. Te Moananui has offered to make a divide, but the opposing party, who are the proper owners of the disputed piece, will have no compromise. They hold that the Government is bound to protect them, seeing the land has passed through the Court, and they are the parties to whom the Court awarded it. — Advertiser's correspondent.
