FIRE AT KERIKERI.
I regret to have to inform you that the house of an industrious immigrant settler, Mr. A. Lyon, of Keriktri, was, on the 14th, burned to the ground. When the accident happened, I believe the whole of the family was away fiom home, so that the furniture, bedding, and clothing were entirely destroyed, and the family]left destitute. I hear that a subscription has been set on foot to endeavour to provide a few necessaries for these unfortunates ; and, should any of your Auckland readers feel inclined to show their sympathy, I am sure our respected Magistrate, C. Mellsop, Esq., would willingly take charge of any sums that might be remitted for the purpose.--[ Papakura correspondent.]
