An inquest was subsequently held, r and a verdict returned of " death from natural causes." The 'Charles Edward,' steamer, with a crew of 16 men and several passengers, left Westport for Greymouth. on Tuesday, the 3rd instant, and has not since been j heard of, either from Nelson, Westport, Charleston, or Brighton. The steamer ' Despatch' was sent out to look "for her, and proceeded a3 far as the Steeples. Troopera, also, have been riding up and down the beach between Greymouth. and Westport, but nothing has been seen or heard of the missing vessel. The Harbourmaster says that the only possibility of her now being found is that she may have broken down, .and been blown off the land, perhaps 1 northward. Mr. C. C. Graham has addressed his constituents at Oamaru, offering to his seat, in. consequence of being about to settle in the North Island. A rote of confidence, however, was passed in his favour, and a 'request embodied that he would retain his seat.
