NEW ZEALAND INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION.
Thk meeting adveitised to take place at the Exchange Rooms, Fort-street, yesterday, for the purpose of forming an Industrial Association, with a view of estabhshmg mamif .ictiu ing mdustiies in this province, was not so well attended as might have been expected fiom the importance of the object. This is mainly due, we presume, to the short notice that had been given of the meeting, and to the fact of the Squadron's leaving about the hour advertised. Those present expressed deep interest in the cause, and but one opinion as to the importance and desirablenesss of the object which had brought them, together. The importance of the establishment of manufacturing industries in this province was well presented in the course of the discussion, and commanded the entire assent of the meeting. The Convention then resolved unanimously that it would proceed to the formation of an association for the above object, those present pledging themselves to become members of the same. To cany these resolutions into effect a committee was appointed to prepare a plan of organisation, and repoit at an adjourned meeting of the Convention, to beheld at the same place on Monday next, tTie I.4th instant, at 3 o'clock p.m.
