Y. Sergeant. The hearing of the Nevada application was adjourned until the 9th. mst. ; aud tlie Malta Gross, Monte Video, North Cape, Ontario, Prospectors', Queen Victoria. Eoyal Standard, Stockton, Bell Bird, Star of Australia, and St. George were adjourned to Friday, the 11th inst. The remaining cases on the list were ordered to be referred to the Engmeer-in-Chief . A blue-jacket belonging to one of the vessels of the Flying Squadron, on leave at the Thames, missed his passage by the last steamer to Auckland yesterday afternoon. His leave expired at six o'clock last night, and finding he could not possibly report himself on board at that hour, and to avoid being taken up a<; a deserter, he reported the circumstances to the Resident Magistrate at once, and obtained a certificate to that effect. A party of natives left the Shortland wharf yesterday, one ot whom had in his possession a gun and ammunition.
