MAY'S BOOK ON FARMING.
To the Editor of the Daily Soutbkrn Cross. Sir, — 4s a well-wisher to all my fellow settlers, and a pietfcy old sett'er myself, I think I shill not be g ing much out of my way in s »ying every man should hare a copy of the abore most useful lifcble book, which contains a vast deal of plain, caoamon sense, valuable information, in a small compass, and ia wifchia the understanding of all who can read. One reason why it \b eo valuable is because the writer is a man who thoroughly understands the subject upon which he is writing, and, being a pretty plaiu matter-of-fact man himself, does not endeavour t<> garnish simple truth with any unnecessary embellishment?. Every fact stated and every method proposed may be faithfully relied upon ; and 1 will guarantee that five out of every six who read the book with an unprejudiced mind will say th.9 same. My only regret is that tiie author could not have brought it out at a lower price, so that it migbt go into the hands of every settler of every class — I am, &c, Oxd Practical.
