Sir, — Noticing in the newspapers that tho last large *peehnen from tho above celebrated claim is likely to find Its way for exhibition to Victoria, 1 beg to suggest tha followi'ig as a fitting destination for such a noble sample of iingland's colonial produce, viz ; Th.it tho stone be placed in a casket manufactured from native woods, wi presented to her Majesty, either bv the Long Drive Company itself or by public subscription as ooming from the mi'iing prpulation at tho 'J names. Tl,e fact of her 8on the Duke of Edinburgh, holding a, largo interest in this claim would of course lender the act a singularly graceful and appropriate one ; but looking at it also from a more material point of view, nich a presentation and to such a. personage would, I fancy, go a long way to benefit our goldflelds, by giving increased publicity to their unquestionable richness.— I am, &c.-.
