Mr. Searauckc being at Alexaudra, sever.il suggested a short shrift and a long rope as their desert, which I am informed would hare actually been ttieir fate, but fcr the timely interference of Captain Hay. The natives belong to the Kiag party, and consist of three m«n aid a woman. In their possession were found four double-barrel guns, ten boxes percussion caps, and twenty four pounds of gunpowder; or sufficient for seven thousand Bix hundred and eighty charges. They have given the description of the parties from whom they purchased, but their statement is not relied on. Great hopts are eutertaiued that the wretches who supplied them will be found out, and meet the fate iv reality that was intended for the natives at Ngatuawahia. They also state that they were living in Auckland and its neighbourhood for the paßt month. Great credib is due to the puntman (Sylvester Maguire), the capture beintj effected through his information. Mr. Searaaoke arrived last evening from Alexandra. The natires will be brought up today for examination, and the result anxiously looked for. Te Kooti is still in the neighbourhood awaiting instructions from hi« god as to the future course he will pursue. Instruction* have been issued to the militia to search all the swagi of suspicions Maoris, several having lately pasted through thii place heavily loaded, on a visit to his Maori Majesty.
