PROPOSED EXTENSION OF THE GRAHAM'S WHARF.
A meeting was held on Wednesday night at the Royal Hotel, Graham's Town, for the purpose of considering the desirability of extending the wharf five hundred feet further out. Notwithstanding the inclemency of the weather, and the short notice given, the meeting was fully represented by the business people of the township. Captain Mathews was voted to the chair. The Chairman briefly stated the object of the meeting. After some consideration on the subject, it was proposed by Mr. Allom, and seconded by Mr. Serjeant— " That a deputation, consisting of Captain Mathews, Mr. Holmes, and the mover, be appointed to wait on Mr. Robert Graham, to ascertain his views relative to that portion of the wharf now in course of erection, and to report to the public meeting, to be held on Wednesday evening next, at eight o'clock, in the same place " After a vote of thanks to the Chairman, the meeting adjourned.
