Messbs. Kelly and party, ol Jteliys uiaim, Moanataiari creek, completed their crushing at Messrs. Harrison, Howard, and Co.'s machine (late Graham's), on Saturday, at 12 o clock, the result of nearly five weeks' crushing being 1 307 ounces retorted gold. The parcel, consisting of two fine cakes of gold, was deposited ia the Union Bank of Australia yesterday. The new proprietors of this machine are causing new stampers to be fitted, and are having other improvements to the machine carried out. _ The Golden Crown cleared up at Souter and Co. '« battery yesterday, and the result was 800 ounces of smelted gold. The crushing of 100 tons is expected to finish to-day, and a large yield is anticipated irrespective of the specimen crushing to follow. Heldt's Claim (Cantwell and party) : lfin tons of quartz from the above claim, crushed at tue Victoria battery last week, yielded 7*o*. to the ton. ■ The Garry Owen Claim completed a satisfactory crushing yesterday.
