Last evening the anniversary tt-a meeting in connection w.fch the HUwaide* street Primitive .Methodist Schoul was held ia the bchoolroom adjoining the chapel. W. ■!. D-*vn in the chair, supported by the Rev. T. Booker, Rev. Mr. Hamer, and other gentlemen. The Chairman was ejlad to say that the present a')iii\er-)ary wa< a great improvement on tne last out*. They were doing much in regard to the work of S»bb*th-«>chool instruction in variom parta of tl)e w»iM where their deno ntnation extended. Tv the whole denomination, by the stvtisti^s published at the lai«t conference, it appeared thab theie were 3,053 schools, and 247,969 scholars. Last year theie was mi increase of 13 000 scholars ' l th"ir own d'jnO'nination, and an increase in the teacher uf 2,451. The Chairman said he W'rti'd not tike up their time by any further obseivations, but w<>uld call ti|>ou th>se gentlemen to addre33 them whose names were ou the piog'amme. Bub he would first call upon the Secietary to rtad the report. . Mr. Hitchcock, the fecietary, then read the report, from wfiich it appeared that there were eleven male md nine female teachers m ihe Edwardes-screet Sabbath-school, an 178 girls and 68 boys The receipts for the year amount to £27 4s. Id., and the exp.-ns.es to £28 Ss 5d., leaving a balance due to tho treasurer of £1 43. 4d. The Rev. Mr. Booker, in moving the adoption of th« report, ie vie wed with confidence the great imprcencent that had taken place during the year, a .d said that he had not ihe slightest doubt that the next year «rould still be more successful both morally and financially than the lasr. Mr. Dorkington seconded the adoption of the report, and in doing; so said he thought the efforts of Sunday-schoul teachers shoald be encouraged to the rery utmost. The rep* rfc was put *nd adopted unanimously. Messrs Goldie, Butley.Treuiaine, Woods, McKerra», and the Rev.
