FRANKLIN ELECTION.

Mr. W. T. Swan, of ShortUnd, has consented to allow himself to be put in nomination for the electoral district of Franklin, in response to the invitation of a deputation from the Thames Improvement Committee, and other gentlemen. Mr. Swan comes for* ward in the interest of the digt-ern, pledged to leave no stone unturned to secure for this district those advantages wh eh it can now fairly l*y claim to m * gohUniinmg country, with a population of 9,000 souls ; t» Becure the revenues of the place for local improvements instead of allowing them to be absorbed in the payment of the interest on provincial debt and other liabilities, reserving, of conm, a due proportion for payment of the same ; and to secure the expenditure of public moneys on our street*, roads, wharves, and bridges.
