PROPOSED PRESSYTERIAN CHURCH AT GRAHAM'S TOWN.
A mbiting of gentlemen interested in the ereotion of » Prtsbyterun Church at Graham's Town was held on Tuesday evening last, in Graham's building. The Rev. David BBuacpresided, and explained that, in accordance "with instructions from the Goldfields Supply Committee, he had summoned the meeting to oousider what measures should be taken for provid* mg religious services for the increasing community at Graham's To.vn and Waiotahi flat. One of the first matters to be oonsi-iered was the securing of a place for the conducting of divine service. He mentioned that he had provisionally secured at sale certain allotments in Graham's Town, which, if the meeting should decide on selecting them, could be had as a lite for a church, subject to a fixed annual rental ; but Mr. Graham had since . then very kindly offered another site in an equally eligible situation, free of rent for fourteen years j and it was now for the meeting to Bay which of the sites should be selected. On the motion of Mr. Mobgan, Mr. Graham's offer was accepted, and the following gentlemen were appointed a committee to c»rry out the object : — Messrs. Robert Graham, Abraham Hunt, Kelly, J. Home, G. Clarkson, J. Ogilvie, Richards, Muir, Faterson, W. Anderson, J. Smart, J. Taylor, and W. M. Hay. Mr. Horne moved, and Mr. Mobgan seconded, ••That, until the church is erected, the comuaittee be charged to make the best possible arrangements for the holdiDg of divine service at Graham's Town."— Carried. The thanks of the meeting were given to Mr. R. Graham for his grant of a site. A subscription , list was then opened, and about £40 was subscribed by the parties.— Advertise, June 6. ,
