PUGILISM IN THE LOBBY OF THE SENATE —FIRST KNOCK-DOWN FOR DELEGATE HOOPER — INTERFERENCE OF THE PEACEMAKERS. Washington, February 12.

The New York Tribune correspondent says :— •'The delegate from Uub, W. Bf. Hooper, and E. D. Holbrook, delegate from Idaho, Amused themselves to-day in one of the lobbies of the Senate by a little pugilistic exercise, which, fortunately for the interests of their constituents, resulted in no bodily harm to either. The dispute arose out of the appointment of one G-ibbs as Governor of Idaho, which has not yet been confirmed by the Senate. Holbrook, as the champion of Gibbs, charged that Hooper bad opposed his confirmation, saying that he wanted no more of it. Hooper denied the impeachment, when Holbrook politely told him that be did not believe him. Tben Hooper took exception to the charges so emphatically as to shake his fist ia Holbrook's fac->. Holbrook objected to Hooper's method of enforcing bis arguments, and, becoming very wroth, immediately knocked down the gentleman from Ucah. By this time a large crowd had assembled, and the combatants- were separated. Holbrook appears to be of a. very quarrelsome disposition. Fie was in a caning encounter last winter at Willard's."
