PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT LAND SALE.
A sale of general country lands took place yesterday, at the Waste Lands Office, and was very fairly attended by intending purchasers. The sale was conducted by the Deputy Waste Lands Commissioner, who also officiated as auctioneer — Dr. Pollen, Receiver of Land Revenue, being present. Twenty-three lots, situated in various localities in the northern part of the Province, were offered for sale, and the total amount of cash received was £143 15s; while at the same time land orders to a very considerable area were exercised. The following list gives the ETos. and situation of the lots, as also of the purchasers' names :—: — Maungakaramea Block, County of Marsden. — Lot 117, 128 acres, £64, James Henderson ; lot 123, 83 acres, £44, H. Waitakerei Block, County of Eden.— Lot 101, 62 acres, £57, Austin. Maungakaramea Block, County of Marsden. —Middle portion of lot 80, 40 acres, £26, Jos. May. Pakiri Block, County of Marsden.— Lot 31, 62 acres, £32, Friend. -Matakohe Block, County of Marsden.— Lot 54, 251 acres, £125 10s., Hill and Dr. Labrosse. Tamaterau Block, County of Marsden. — Lot 11, 20 acres 1 rood, £10 2s. 6d., and lot 12, 26 acres 1 rood, £13 2s. 6d, Thos. Burton.
