MB. BITCKLAHD S EEPOBT. The heavy shower ou the morning of Saturday last damaged a good deal of the hay Drought forward, and prices were consequently lower than usual. The Canterbury oats brought at the opening of the sale 3s. 6d. per bushel, but fell ai the sale proceeded to 2s. 7d,, at whioh price the sale was ■topped, and the balance i« now selling freely at Bs. For good horse stock, whether for riding purposes or draught, there wa» a fair inquiry, and sales wer» effected between £20 and £30; but for the large number of broken-down animals offering the price u n °At the Triangle, on Tuesday last, several pens of well-bred steers, in fresh condition, sold freely, and realised about 20s. per head in advance of late markets. Sheep were duU of sale, fat merinoes bringing about 16s. 6d. each. At Newmarket, on Thursday last, several pens of store cattle met with a free sale at full prices. Dairy cowi were offered in large numbers ; young good animals sold freely, bringing from £10 to £20 each, but aged and inferior stook were dull of sale. Kat cattle were in full supply, and of first-class quality ; they sold better than for some weeks, bringing about 455. the 1001b. ; 78 head were sold, many of them of large si?e. Pat sheep pens were all filled with good half-breds, and prices were lower; they brought from 225. to 345. each, and were of prime quality. Merino wethers almost unsaleable, and many withdrawn : those sold brought from 13s. to 17s. Cd. each. Pigs offered in large numbers : dairyfed pork maintained itsprioe, but storet and slips were very low.
