Consequent on the non-arrival of the London ship, « John Scott,' now considerably overdue, commodities of various kinds are tunning out of stock. Messrs. John Roberton and (Jo. held a sale to-day of groceries, &c, when the following prices were realised :— Compton's hams and bacon, Is l£d to Is 2d ; colonial cheese, 8d ; confectionery, li to Is Id ; Brown and Poison's corn flour, 8d ; currants, 4jsd ; eisence of lemon, 5s 3d per dozen ; bottled fruits, 14s 6d ; red herrings, 33s j lobsters,, 9s per dozen; hops, Is sd; Tasmania* jama in tini, 9s 3d j English lemonade, and soda-water, ssjs j mixed spice, Is 3d; mustard, 9d psr lbj oatmeal, 3d; salad oil, 8s; castor oil, 3s 6d ; grocers' paper, 4£d ; blacklead, 6d ; orange, lemon, and citron peel, Is 3d ; salt, coarse and fine, in lcwt. bags, £4 15s to £5 ; sardines, quarter, 6s 6d; Lea and Perrin's sauce, 13s 9d ; starch, Colmans and Orlando Jones's, 4^d ; Mauritius sugar, in small mati, 5d to s£d ; vinegtr, 2s 9d per gallon ; flour, first-class brands, Chilian, £11 12s 6d to £12 per ton, cash.
