RAGLAN. HOSTILE PROCEEDINGS OF THE REBELS. SETTLERS WARNED TO LEAVE KAWHIA. (FROM AN OCCASIONAL CORRESPONDENT.) April 20.
Hone te One, the native assessor of Kawhia, hag just arrived, having received notice to leave Kawhia in three days, from the King Maoris. Mrs. Charletou and Mr. Morgan have also received notice. The King Maoris now claim all the land to Ofcea. The friendlies are greatly excited, all protection having been withdrawn. We have nobody to advise, or say what steps the Government intend to take. The meeting of the friendlies it over; they have ordered Hone te One to return to Kawhia, and they will send a party to protect him. If sd, there will be fighting. I doubt if they are strong enough ;if defeated they will retreat to Haglan, and then war in our midst.
