CALCUTTA.

The Calcutta Englishman of March 6th reports :— We have no improvements to notice in sugar, either in prices or demand. Saltpetre continues in the same state as before, and prices keep firm at 5 rupees. Eice : Business in table kinds has taken place to some extent for Great Britain, at a slight reduotion on previous rates. B&llam is also lower, about 2 annas per tnd. Present quotations are Ks. 2-Bto 210 for Kharee, and 2-13 to 3 for Ballam , Castor Oil : For this article prices have advanced, ' owing- principally to the scarcity of seeds. Thebusiness done has therefore been somewhat limited. Prices range from 12-8 to 13-8.
