RIFLE FIRING.
The firing for Captain. Clarkes rifle and money prizes came off yesterday at the Mount Eden target. The weather was very favourable, and some good scores were made by the co -npetikors present, who mustered very strongly. The fitst prize was a rifle and £5, which fell to the lot of Private Stewart, of the Volunteers, for a score of 42. The second prize of £2 10s. was awarded to Private Brighton, of the Militia, for a score o£ 43. The following scores were made : —
