RELIGIOUS MEMORANDA.
The annual meeting of tbe Presbytery of Auckland was held in St. Andrew's Chni eh early last montb, —the Rev. E. McKiuney, moderator. The Rev. Joseph Copland, missionary, from the New Hebrides, and the Key. Dr. Walks, receutly arrived fiom Scotland, were introduced, and took their seat* as members of Court. The Her. John Gorrie, Wangarei, was appointed moderator for the current year. It is the intention of the ministers of Hawke's Ba}', iv accordance with the instructions of the Assembly, to constitute themselves into a Presbytery . The Rev. J. B. McNicol has been appointed by the Colonial Committee of the Church of Scotland, to Taranaki. The Session of St. Andrew's Church have made arrangements to avail themselves of the services of the Rev. Dr. Witllis in their station in the Kyber Pass. The commissioners chosen to attend the meeting of tbe General Assembly, now being held at Dunediu, were — Rev. Messrs, D. Bruce and J. Hill, and Mr. Junes Smart. Several matters affecting the well-beiug of the Church were brought forward for consideration. The baz*ar which we noticed in last Summary as twsjng held for the purpose of supplementing the fund for the enlargement of St. Patrick's Cathedral, realised the handsome sum of £400. The anniversary services of the Wesleyan Missionary Society, for the Northern District of New Zealand, were held in the Wesleyan Chapel, Highstreet, on Sunday, sth instant. On the following evening the anniversary meeting was held in the same place, at which a report detailing the society's operations during the past year was read, and several addresses delivered. 1 A tea meeting wat held at the Wesleyan Chapel, North Shore, on the evening of the 9th inst The Itev. Mr. Warren pre*ided. The object of the meeting was to liquidate the, debt upon that place of worship, which has been recently erected at a cost of £244, £120 of which sum had bten raised by subscription. A similar meeting waa held in the Weileyan Chapel, Kemuera, on the 14th instant, presided over by the Rev. J. Warren, the proceeds of which were to be devoted to the finishing of the building. . The annual-tea meeting of the fnendi of the Onehunga Wesley an. Mission was held in the Weileyan Chapel, Onehunga, on the evening of the 27 tli instant. Mr. Charles Fleming presided,, and a number iuterettiug addresses were delivered during the evening. The amount collected in 1 the circuit during the year was stated to be £40 195. 6d. The anniversary services ,in connection with the Albert street Congregational Sabbath School were held on Sunday, 19th instant, and conducted by the Rev. S. Edger, pastor, at the close of which liberal collections were made. On the following evening the annual soirge was held in the chapel— the Rev.Mr. Edger preiiding. The report read contained iom« gratifying statements as to the progress made by tHe school during the past year. Several addresses were delivered byjthe teacher*' and others. On the evening of 19th instant, a' meeting of the resident! at Stokei's Point, North Shore, ' was held to consider the desirability of establishing a school* The Rev. T. Kerr presided. TCdgeiy pastor of the Albert-street Congregational Chapel,' delivered an' address in the Odd Fellows' Hall, on the 24th instant; in aid of the funds of the Auckland City Mission and Children's Home, selecting as his theme "Recreation." There was a large attendance of the friends of that important local churity. • '
