The follow iv q important and satisfactory notice from the Secietary and Inspector of Customs appeals in a General Government Girdle of the 31st ultin o, icceived by the '.Rangatha' : — Customs — Xonci:. Duty having been paid upon the following articles byv.uious meichants and impoiteis in the colony, under proteit, the Commissioner of Oustotns directs it to be notified to the several Collectors aud SubCollectors, that they may lefnnd tho dnt/ on all ar. tides classed under Sul>-scciion No. 14, of Section lIT. of the New Customs Dutio< Act, 1564, retaining the duties collected under all other subsections. The cHcsifieatiou of gootls under piotost ia as follows", viz :—: — Sub-section No 4: Agiioultuial implements, snch as ploughs, harions, chaff-cutters, etc. Sub-section No 7: Fin far shouting, jute, or hemp lnauufactmc mixed witli silk, cotton, or woollen. Subsection No. 14: All metals manuf icluied into lod, boll-, bar, and sheet, chains, cheese, felt, hemp, and jute mvnufaotuies unmixed with any of tlie maferial enumcritcd m Mib-scctioii No. 7; heniiias, vesta-, and lucifeis of all Uiuds.
