The ' C'oloniit' remarks :— Great sensation has been manifested in thii district lately in consequence of the monster claim of half a million of Mm of land, Mid to have been bought from the Maories by Mr. Green. It ii to be hoptd that this will receive all due weight from the Waste Land Board, which in our opinion ought to be no weight at aIL If Mr. Green erer had any claim it must be now forfeited, with several others equally just, because of their not haying been put it when they were demanded. Land is getting too valuable, and the people more enlightened than to be imposed upon by such- vague statements as those advanced to substantiate this claim.
