Dairy cows ol first-rate quality were not offered ; those sold broughc from £9 ss. to £10 ss. Sheep sold from 235. 6d. to 275. 9d. 2 teams of working bullocks sold prirately for £47 and £60. At the Newmarket cattle sale held by Messrs, Cheeseman «n Tuesday last, the 9th instant, there was a good attendance of buyeis, with but a limited supply of all descriptions of stock. Those offe-ed realised good prices. Indeed the markets at present indicate an upward tendency. Fat heifers and steers sold at from £8 2s. 6d. to £13 12s. fid. Sheep averaged 28s. each. Mr. Alfred Buckland reports that at his sale held at Mr. Hall's yards at Otahuhu, on Wednesday the 10th instant, there was a fair attendance of buyers, and about 40 head of store cuttle were sold at satisfactory prices. The 20 ewe hogs advertised realised 18s. fid. each. At hit yards, Newmarket, on Thursday, August 11th, there was a numerous attendance, and a full market of stock cf all kinds. For the fat stock satisfactory prices were obtained ; but store stock, whether sheep or cattle, sold" low. Dairy cows are rather dull of sale. fat cattle realised last week's prices. A draught of 14 head of cows and steers averaged £13 175., other 15 steers £12, and 7 cows and heifers £9 each. The quality of the fat sheep was not so good as that of last week, but met with a fair sale. Store sheep sold low, ewe hogs | selling from 11s. 9d. to 165., and wether hogs from 13s. to 14s. 9d. each. 27 pigs, principally fat, sold well at an advance in price orer the past few weeks. The hordes advertised realised respectively £19, £18, £15, £10 os., £15 15s. and £27.
