OCCUPATION BRIGADE LEADER

Departure From N.Z. The departure for the Middle East of Brigadier K. L. Stewart. New Zealand Staff Corps, who was recently appointed to command the New Zealand Brigade which will be part of Iho British Commonwealth Occupation Force in Jnpau, is announced.

Though no official announcement concerning the force for Japan is available, Brigadier Stewart’s departure gives point to the cablegram from Now York stating that British troops for Japan would consist of New Zealanders. Australians, Indians, nnd British nnd that the vanguard of that force is scheduled to arrive on January 1 next.
