NORFOLK ISLAND WEDDING

A wedding of considerable interest to New Zealand friends was celebrated recently at St, Barnabas’ Chapel, Norfolk Island, when 4V.A.L. Joyce Giles, medical section of the R.N.Z.A.F., daughter of Mrs. G. Gibs, I’aeroa, ivas married to Corporal Alison Joseph Fniei, twin son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Fraei, Otorohimga. The ceremony was performed by the vicar of Norfolk Island, assisted by Hight Lieutenant A. E. Osiuers, Chanlain to the R.N.Z.A.F. The bride was given away by Flight Lieutenant R. N. Akel, medical oflieer, and was attended by Sergeant Mae Speedy, M’.A.iV.F. The best man was Corporal Austin Blatch. Both the bride and bridesmaid wore their white service uniforms and carried bouquets of orangeblossom given to them bj’ an island resident. After the ceremony the commanding officer, Squadron-Leader G. M. Firth, and Charge Sister E. F. Laing acted as host and hostess at a buffet breakfast. Phinket Ball Tonight. A final reminder is given of tonight’s Plunket Ball in the Town Hall. <
