Prisoner To Be Mentally Examined
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND.. August 9. “No thank you,” replied Ronald Dempsey Crook, aged 33, labourer, when asked if he had anything to. say before being sentenced by Mr. Justice Cornish in the Supreme Court this morning on four charges of arson, tw’o of housebreaking, and three of burglary. Prisoner recently admitted setting lire to four houses in Auckland. “I want to get a report on this man’s mental condition,” said the judge. The Crown representative, Mr. Cleal, said some reports had been made, and he handed these to the judge. His Honour said he would like something from the superintendent of the mental hospital. He remanded Crook for two weeks to enable him to be examined by the mental hospital superintendent.
