Cup Horses Engaged In President’s Handicap
Dominion Special Service.
AUCKLAND, December 29.
The Auckland Trotting Club’s summer meeting will be concluded at Epsom tomorrow. The fields are again of a good standard and evenly 'balanced. The principal races will be the President’s Handicap, the Rowe (Memorial Handicap, aud the Farewell Handicap. On their cup displays, Bettv Boop, Lady Dawn and Black Label should race prominently in the President’s Handicap and Sea Born and Volo Senwod who were both a little unlucky on the first dav. may do better. Claremorris, Hillcrest and War Guard may repeat their St. Hellers Handicap performance in the Farewell Handicap, but Lady Dawn, Betty Koop, Sea Born and Hilda Potts are a dangerous lot. A fine contest is expected in the Rowe Memorial Handicap, and while Echoist and Cockney should go well they may be overshadowed by Robie, Forewarned and Fantom. The field in the Great Northern Trotting Derby is purely local and as they are the onlv three-year-olds with a win to their credit Bexley’s Pride and Josie Dell will be favoured.
