More Rations In Britain

An announcement by the Minister of Food that extra Christmas rations for all..and an extra ounce of tea weekly for old people, as from December 10, has been given cheerful prominence in the Press here.
For the week preceding Christmas Day the meat ration will be nearly doubled, while the margarine ration and the children’s sweets ration will also be increased. The Commons cheered loudly when the Minister. Colonel Llewellin, said : “I am one of those who take the view that the people of this country, who have been on as strict rationing as anybody during these years of war. are entitled to some consideration.”
