American Distribution Facilities Maximum distribution of British motion pictures is the aim of an agreement recently signed in London between leading British*aud American film interests, according to Mr. Otto Bolle, executive in charge of 20th Century-Fox Film Corporation affairs in South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Mr. Bolle has come to New Zealand from Sydney to discuss arrangements in the Dominion with Mr. E. L. Rutledge, managing-director of the corporation in New Zealand. The sanje degree of effort would be applied to the securing of the maximum distribution of British as of American products. Mr. Bolle said the agreement would be a vast improvement on the older system. It had been signed by Mr. J. Arthur Rank, the leading English producer, distributor and exhibitor, and Mr. Spyros Skouras, president of the Fox organization. Describing it as the most important deal yet made for the distribution and exhibition of British films in Australia and New Zealand, he said it formed part of a world-wide agreement. “When the time comes for the winning of the pence the screen must play as vital a part as it has done and is doing now to ’win the war,” Mr. Bolle said. “British and American film interests working in harmony and combining their mighty resources can provide an invaluable instrument for the making of better human relationship between the nations.”
