A new use for train seats, valuable these days, was encountered by a passenger who boarded the Napier express for Wellington at Palmerston North on Friday. There were then two people standing in the vestibule of a first-class carriage. The passenger seeking a seat found one of a pair taken up with luggage. He suggested to the person on the occupied seat that the luggage could be shifted on to the rack. He was told in reply' that the seat was reserved for the luggage of “Mr. It was soon shifted.
