FERTILIZER RATION
Extra Quantity Needed Au inquiry as to what steps were being taken by the Minister of Agriculture, Mr, Roberts, to provide an increased fertilizer ration for this year was made by Mr. Murdoch (Opposition, Marsden) in notice of a question in the House yesterday. lie said phosphates were now obtainable from Florida and North Africa and it was imperative that . increased quantities be made available if primary production was to be maintained. In a further question put by Mr. Murdock in association with Mr. Sutherland (Opposition, Hauraki'), he asked if the Minister of Railways, Mr. Semple, would make immediate arrangements for the supply of rolling stock to meet all fertilizer demands, in view of the very urgent necessity for the early application of fertilizer to the farm lands of the North Aw&landeajM.
