EXPORT PRODUCTS

Discussions Taking Place

Remarks by Mr; Murdoch, M.P., at the Northland dairy conference to the effect that negotiations were, now in ■progress between the British and New Zealand Governments in regard to an increase in the price paid for butter, were referred to yesterday by the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Roberts. “This statement as it stands is inaccurate and apt to give a wrong impression,” said Mr. Roberts. “No specific negotiations in regard to butter and cheese prices are in progress, but discussions are taking place on the increases in the prices paid for materials and goods imported into New Zealand relative to the prices of' New Zealand export products. The Minister of Finance, Mr. Nash, is making appropriate representations while he is in London.”
