ANOTHER BILL VETOED

(Received February 23, 7.10 p.m.) WASHINGTON, February 22. President Rosevelt has vetoed the 2315 million dollars Tax Bill as wholly ineffective and requested immediate Congressional action on a substitute measure. Mr. Roosevelt in a message to Congress recalled thnt he had requested 10.500 million dollars additional taxes, whereas the present Bill provided the Treasury with only 1000 million dollars net. “The Bill.’’ added the President, ’’at'-, fords indefensible special privileges for favoured groups and sets a dangerous precedent for the; future.”
