WEDDING

Lanceley—Angus

A. pretty wedding took place at St. James’s Church, Lower Hutt, recently, when Audrey Evelyn, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Angus, Lower Hutt, was*married to Ralph Bernard, son of Mrs.' K. Lanceley and the late Mr. H. Lanceley, Petone. The Bev. J. C. Davies officiated. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a trained gown of white slipper satin, with heart-shaped neckline, sleeves fitting at the wrist, and a ruched bodice. Iler embroidered tulle veil, lent by her cousin, Mrs. J. Pugh, was arranged on the head with a topknot of Christmas lilies, and her showerbouquet was of carnations, Christmas lilies, roses and maidenhair fern. Her attendants were Misses Hilda Craig (chief), Ksma Walker, a cousin, Hazel Angus, a cousin, and Norma Mitchell, the small flower-girls being twin sisters, Maureen and Irene Ward. The bridesmaids’ frocks were of old-blue crepe lorraine, made similarly to that of the bride, but having short sleeves. Their short, cream net veils were finished with electric blue velvet orchids, and they carried pink roses, delphiniums, white carnations and fern. Their kauri gum pendants were the bridegroom’s gift. The flower-girls’ frocks were similar to the bridesmaids’, silver streamers .finished their Dolly Varden hats, and they carried flowers in silver-handled baskets. The best man was Mr. AV. Jones, and the groomsmen were Messrs. G. and C. Angus, twiu brothers of the bride and Mr. B. McDonald.

Mrs. Angus wore a tailored navy striped suit and a toning hat with feather mount, and Mrs. Lanceley was in a black ensemble and black hat. The bride travelled in a tailored, suit and smart black hat.
