INITIAL MEETING
Wellington Townswomen’s Guild The recently formed Wellington Townswomen’s Guild (Dominion federation) held its initial monthly meeting yesterday in the Blind Club social' hall, 80 neople being present. The guild has a victory circle for patriotic work, also arts and crafts, gardening, and study groups. Mrs. Walker, chairman of the Wellington area federation, presided. . Special guests were the Dominion organizer, Mrs. Moran, and Mrs. Albert and Mrs. M. Baker, of the Dominion federation executive. Mrs. Walker outlined the aims and objects of the guild, and short addresses were given by Mrs. Moran and Mrs. Albert. The speaker was Mrs. Kain, mother of the late Flying Officer (Cobber) Kain. Mrs-. I. Halligan gave elocutionary items and tea was served by the committee. The special guests and those who entertained were presented with flowers. Mrs. Mair was at the piano. The first meeting was pronounced most successful, and already there are 70 members, who will meet every month.
