FUNERAL OF AVIATRIX
New Zealanders Attend (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Special Correspondent.) (Received February 17, 7 p.m.) LONDON, February 16.. The funeral service for the late Miss Jane Winstone, Wanganui, was held in the Catholic Church of St. Joseph, Maidenhead, Berkshire, and she was buried in All Saints’ Cemetery, Maidenhead. There was a large ncmber.of wreaths, including many from the Air Transport Auxiliary. „ ■ . . Mr. W. J. Jordan, New Zealand High Commissioner, was represented by Lieutenant W. A. Goss, N.Z.E.F., Christchurch, and others ■ present were Miss Trevor Hunter, Wanganui, Miss Betty Black, Dunedin, First Officer Patricia Blundell, Wellington, all members of the A.T.A., also Major H. D. Robertson, Wanganui, Lieutenants T. J. Bourke, Wellington, and W. H. Goss, Dunedin, of the R.N.Z.N.V.R., Flight Lieutenant R. S. D. Kearns, D.F.C., D.F.M., Reefton, Flight Lieutenant V. Howarth, R.A.A.F., Sergeant F. J. Whitehead, N.Z.E.F., Dunedin. The pallbearers were members of the A ; r Transport Auxiliary. Miss Winstone, whos death occurred in England while on duty with the Air Transport Auxiliary, decided that her war service should be in the air force, snd she sailed for England in 1942. With other girl pilols her work consisted of ferrying planes, in all weathers, from factories to air stations.
