Hindu Who Gave Maoris Liquor Dominion . Special Service. ROTORUA, February 11. A fine of £lOO and costs was imposed on Ratanji Dayba, storekeeper, Ruatahuna, who was convicted in the Magistrates’ ■ Court, Rotorua, before Mr. Paterson, S.M., of supplying liquor to two Maori women. Constable Bidois gave evidence that he was called to Te Whaiti to, investigate a report of a disturbance. On entering the premises he found two Maori women there and some Hindu menfolk. Bottles were lying about and revealed indications of having, recently contained liquor. The constable said that on leaving with the women Dayha had approached him and asked to be given a chance.
