Arrival Of Furlough Men (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, February 11. Enthusiastic - scenes marked the arrival of two trains of-furlough men in Auckland. The first party, en route to Northland, were given a good breakfast at the railway station before continuing their journey, and their departure coincided with the arrival of the second train at 8.30. when the excitement at the station reached its peak. The arrangements for the reception of the men worked perfectly, and within 35 minutes the whole station was cleared. The .first men began to depart for their homes within five minutes of their arrival. More cars than were needed had lined up at the station to provide transport.
Some of the men. giving their impressions. said they were delighted with the way they had been received back in New Zealand,, and they wished to thankthe authorities and those responsible for the hospitality extended to them along the route. At practically every station throughout the night there was a crowd to cheer them, and more food was provided than they could eat.
