MIRAMAR SPRING SHOW

The Miramar and Eastern Suburbs Horticultural -Society’s spring show hent recently, was most successful. Entries in the narcissi section were numerous, and of very high quality, the premier bloom considered of exceptional merit. The enlarged section for school children was very well supported. some outstanding work being exhibited and attracting much favourable comment. Tlie show was well attended and was opened by Mr. W. K. Dallas. Director of Horticulture, supported by Mr. Horne, president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, The judges were .Mr. 11. Poole, narcissi; Mr. A. J. Jackson, miscellaneous; Bliss Jacobsen, decorative and children's classes. The champion trumpet in the open section was a seedling shown by Mrs. G. Parsons; champion other than trumpet and premier bloom of the show. “Grayling.” shown by Mr. E. Taylor: amateur champion trumpet. "Rosstrevor.” shown by Mr. F. Oddy: champion, other than trumpet. “Elspeth,” shown by Mrs-. G. Parsons. Tito Miramar challenge eup for 12 varieties was won by Mrs. J. Paterson. The Francis Gup novice section, was won by Mrs. W 11. Leitch.

Members of the Hutt Valley U.S.A. are reminded of a -general meeting to be held In the club roorits. Lower.Hutt, tonight.
