The visiting Auckland represent at: re table tenuis team proved too strong’ tor Wellington in a match played at tho Winter Show'Building on Saturday afternoon. For a time it appeared that Wellington would bo heavily defeated, as at one stage Auckland was leading by 7 games to but. Wellington made a remarkable recovery and won the next three matches to make the iiual score Auckland 7, Wellington 5. The teams were: —Auckland: r.. Cheal (captain), J. Brien, H. Hartnoil. O. Jane, Mr. H. Brien (manager). ellmgton: G. Bell (captain). F. Mooney, MBaven, G. Smith, Mr. V. Mitchell (managel?ln the evening the team, with the addition of two women players, Misses I. Dove New Zealand and Auckland champion) and B. Skipper, played Hutt Galley at. I’etono. The Hutt team consisted of G. Corbett, S. Henderson, J. Wall, S. Robson and Alisses B. Strang and E- McNeill. This time the visitors were'defeated by 12 games to 1. Hutt Valley are now feeling very confident Cor their forthcoming match against M’cUlngtou which is to decide who is to be first holder of the Jack Croudis Memorial Shield (presented by Air. and Mrs. G. Valk).
