Men and women transferred in industry to jobs which involved their receiving a lower wage were now compensated, stated the Prime Minister, Mr It raser, when replying to Opposition inquiries during the National Service Department estimates debate in the House ot Representatives last night. He also said that the appointment of a Director of Rehabilitation would be made at an early date. . , In reply to Opposition complaints that there was undue delay in releasing Grade II men from the -Army, he said about 10,000 had been released for industry since April last and about 2000 of these had gone to Hie farming industry.
