Vice-Regal Government House, ■Wellington. August 7. At Government House this morning, his Excellency the Governor-General handed to Mrs. Allen the Insignia of an Officer of the Most Excellent. Order of the British Empire, which was awarded to her late husband. Lieutenant-Colonel S. I'. Allen, New Zealand Staff Corps. This afternoon his Excellency received Air Vice-Marshal R. V. Goddard. August 8His Excellency the Governor-General attended divine service at St. Janies s Church, Lower Hutt, this morning. Captain C. A. 1,. Mnnscrgh, U.N.. has left Government House. The lit. Hon. I’. Fraser, Prime Minister visited Nelson on Saturday to present the’ Frcyherg flag which Nelson won ill the Liberty Loan campaign. lie attended a welcome home to Major C. I'. Skinner, M.C., M.P.. at Molueka in the evening.
