TIMARU SEAT

(Bv Telegraph.—l’ress Association.! TIMARU, August 7. Mr. Douglas Cresswell, South Island organizer for the Democratic Soldier Labour Party, has been selected to contest the Timnru seat in the forthcoming election. Mr. Cresswell, who comes of a pioneering Canterbury family, served in the last war and was a member of the Canterbury recruiting committee. In 1932 he accepted a series of contracts to broadcast talks with the National Broadcasting Service. These talks covered such subjects as early pioneers, farm-in-r and industry, and it is for this work that he is most widely known throughout the Dominion.
