Vice-Kegai Government House, Wellington, June 3. His Excellency the Governor-General presided at n meeting of the National Patriotic Fund Board this morning. Mr. E. J. Rishworth, Civil Defence Division, National Service Department, has returned from the .South Island. Mr. S. J. Harbutt Ii:i« been re-elected chairman of the Auckland Electric Power Board. He has been chairman since 1937. Mr. A. McKenzie, chairman of the Auckland division of the National Party, is visiting Wellington. Mr. I. J. Wilson lias been elected secretary of the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association, succeeding Mr. 11. W. Armitage, who has resigned owing to ill health. Professor A. H. Tucker lias been elected rector of Canterbury University Collego for three years from March 1, 1943, or till such earlier time as a permanent academic head is appointed.
