BOWLING MATCH
Two fours representing the Parnparauniu Beacli Bowling Club visited Paekakariki on Saturday to play a match for tlie iMexted Cup. which was held by the Paokakarlki elub. The challengers won, but the result was in the balance right, up to the final end. The Paraparaumu four skipped bv Cuming defeated -Munro s Paekakarlkl team by 25 to 14, and Peters, Paekakariki, led his side to victory over Ginger. Paraparaumu, by 20-12. With a win each, the decision had to be reached on the aggregate scores, which gave the cup to the challengers by 37 points to 34. In handing the cup over to Mr. J. Petherick, vice-president of the Paraparaumu club, Air. A. Early congratulated Paraparaumu on their success, and assured them that there were several challengers who would be making a bid to lift the cup. There was an unusual happening during one of the games. One of the Paekakariki skips sent a full-powered drive into a packed head and, hitting a composition bowl belonging to one of his own team, broke it into three pieces.
