EAST HARBOUR FLOWER SHOW
The midsummer show of the East Harbour Horticultural Society was held on Saturday and was opened by Mr. .1. B. Yaldwin. East Harbour representative ou the Hutt County Council. Mr. Yatdwln congratulated the society on the beautitul display of blooms and the quality of I lie exhibits. He said lie was pleased Ihe society was continuing its shows ami hihoped it would enlarge its activities iu the direction of undertaking troe-plauting ou a large scale on the hills on tile eastern side of the harbour.
A feature of the slonv was a iieautltui display of hydrangeas staged by Mrs. itigliton and Mrs. Weston. The vegetable section was particularly flue and brought a number of new competitors into the field. There were also interesting collections of trail, 'i’lte cltanipion dahlia ("('Jara Carder") was exhibited by Mr. ’l’. R. Boyes. 'i'lii. following is file prize-list: —
