Pilot Officer Fainter was educated at King’s College, Aiicklitml. ami "joined the It.A A.F. early in 1940. In bls first, fortnight in the Middle East he shot down three enemy planes. Pilot Officer rainier began bis journalistic career in Auckland, later being on Ute editorial staffs of a Singapore paper and subsequently the "Sun.” Sydney He cruised half-way around the world with lhe American Dwight Long, ill his ketch. Idle Hour. Pilot Ollicer Palmer, who was 32, leaves a widow and one child.
