Headmaster Appointed

The ainwintment of Mr. Harold Butler Lusk, M.A., LL.B., acting-head-master of King’s College, to be headmaster, in succession to the late Litiut..Colonel J. N. I‘earf, D. 5.0., is announced. Lieut.-Colonel I’eart died of woilnds in the Middle East in September. ' Mr. Lusk, who has been in charge of King’s College since the late headmaster joined the forces in 1939, is a veteran teacher well known throughout New Zealand not only in that capacity but also as a front rank cricketer ami golfer ■in his younger days. A member of an old Auckland family, he was educated at Christ’s College, Christchurch, and Auckland University College. He began his teaching career in 1894 under the Auckland Education Board, and later was for about 14 years on the staff of Christs College, including two years on exchange at Rugby School. In 1920 Mr. Lusk came to King’s College. In his long cricketing career Mr. Lusk represented New Zealand, Auckland, and Canterbury, and played in many notable matches. He was a particularly fine opening batsman and slip field. He was New Zealand amateur golf champion in 1910, and has won over 30 open meetings and championships.
